WHICH BIN TIPS

Greasy pizza boxes and paper bags can go in the green bin.
Ever wondered what to do with a pizza box, particularly if it’s quite greasy or has cheese and other food stuck on the box?

The good news is that it can go straight into your green organics bin. In the unlikely event that there is any unwanted or stale pizza that has been left in box too long then this can go in the green bin too.

Pizza boxes can be used to line the bottom of your green bin and prevent food and garden organics from sticking to it.

You may have also ordered a side of garlic bread. If it comes in a paper bag, then that can also go in the green bin.

If you enjoy pies, pasties, sausage rolls and doughnuts fresh from the bakery, you will likely have a paper bag with some sauce or icing on the inside. This can also go in the green bin.

The general rule for the green bin is ‘if it grows, it goes!’ Cardboard and paper are compostable as they made from trees…which of course grow, so hence these items are good to go in green bin.
