Always in the yellow bin: plastic trays and pots

Plastic pots and trays that new seedlings and trees come in can be recycled by emptying out the soil, giving them a quick rinse and placing them in your yellow bin.

While they may have green things in them to start with, they are not compostable and should never go in your green bin.

Another great option for recycling plastic trays and pots is to reuse them. Your local community garden might have a need for them, or you might be able to give them away on Gumtree or Facebook Marketplace.
